Quebec has several financial support programs for seniors. Tax credits are available and may cover a substantial percentage of your senior residence fees.
Financial Support
In all Group LRM residences, a portion of the rent paid is eligible for the ”tax credit for home-support services for seniors.’ In other words, the government support programs refund a sum of money to retirees who choose to pay for home care services rather than use the public health system and social services. Refundable expenses can include meals, snacks, laundry and housekeeping services, television and cable, personal care, nursing, etc.

The allocation-logement program is another financial assistance program for low-income households. Applicants can save receive as much as $80 per month. Visit the Société d’Habitation du Québec website for more information.
